City Art After Dark is an exhibition for one night only at twentyfive bar, a stylish new bar located in Liverpool’s city centre business district tomorrow evening. I will have 3 pieces of work included (see the images below)…

The organisers have said:

“Our venue for the evening is twentyfive bar which is of course a non-traditional exhibit space, although has been selected from many venues within the Liverpool Business District to fit with our criteria of a dynamic, exciting, vibrant space. We pride ourselves in our ability to stray from the norm with great success!

“The exhibition, will spotlight established local artists and also emerging local artists.

“Our exhibitions are a great opportunity for art lovers to come together to appreciate and celebrate art, and get their creative juices flowing.

“There is also the option to enjoy a mocktail or a cocktail also from the impressive cocktail menu, or also fine wines.”

Venue: twentyfive bar, Beethem Plaza, 25 The Strand, Liverpool, L2 0XJ.
Date: 11th November 2011; 7:00pm.

Tomorrow evening we (Sense of Sound singers) will be singing twice, for your listening pleasure, outside The Bluecoat. This will coincide with the turning on of the Christmas Lights in Liverpool City Centre. We will be doing two small sets at one at 7:00pm & one at 7:45pm. It’s all free & I think it will probably give you a bit of a taster of what to expect in our gigs next month. I have listed some of the Sense of Sound forthcoming gigs on the events page of my website if you are interested in finding out more!

Up there is a picture of us singing on the main stage of Liverpool Pride when things were all a bit warmer. (Photo courtesy of Jackie Stevens).

Just add fire. And people. And food. And alcohol

jazamin sinclair / Uncategorised / / 1 Comment

We’re getting ready for our bonfirey ‘do’ tomorrow evening. We’ve cleaned up the garden. I’m about to make North African lamb & North African vegetables with Couscous hence the number of chickpeas that have been soaking overnight & the number of aubergines. All we need now is fire, people & alcohol (preferably of the mulled wine variety). Do you like our makeshift decking?

Just add fire. And people. And food. And alcohol.

Here’s the finished article (or articles) – nearly 7 hours later – mind you I did multiply the recipe by 6! The veggie versions are on the left & have Quorn in them instead of lamb…

Charity Art Auction for Greenbank Sports Academy: How it went

'Hot Pepper Sauce 2': Original Painting by Jazamin Sinclair

'Hot Pepper Sauce 2': 15cm squared; Acrylic & varnish on canvas; Sold at Auction to raise money for Greenbank Sports Academy

I went to the Greenbank Sports Academy Charity Auction this evening, which I had donated a piece of artwork to & it sold to raise £15.00. ALL of the money generated from all sales is going towards helping to raise money for sport and art activities for disabled children at Greenbank Sports Academy.

Dot art helped to find many pieces of work for the auction including some pieces by friends & local Liverpool artists, such as: Jackie Stevens, Nathan Pendlebury, Paul Francis & Lynn Fraser. There were some great pieces of work there & I was really shocked & surprised to see a very large original of Nathan’s go for £15.00 – I think it’s worth a lot more than that but it’s all for a good cause in the end & that’s what matters…

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay until the end (or to see how Jackie, Paul & Lynn’s artwork did) but bar a few pieces, everything seemed to be selling & the buyers were getting more & more into it as the evening went on. The auctioneer Max Steinberg (Chief Executive of Liverpool Vision) was taking no prisoners! Lets hope lots of good will come from the money raised!

Below are few images of the evening!
